The 1000 Girls campaign is fundraising for sanitary pads for 1000 refugee girls, while educating South African youth on Gender-Based Violence. This project aims to combat Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and counter a rape culture through education, fundraising, and outreach. GBV is an ongoing crisis in South Africa and we are committed to combating this issue. We believe that until all entities unite in this fight, we will not achieve change or success. Our merged organizations represent men, women, boys, and girls, and our partnership is a united effort to fight for equality for women, particularly refugees. Amid the Corona epidemic and the related financial impact of lockdown regulations, a lack of funding for refugee girls has left young women in South Africa in desperate need of support.
